Thank you for this! My whole life I’ve wondered why I don’t like the way I look in casual clothing and then I discovered the Kibbe system. This is helpful, it is truly hard for us SDs to look casual.

girl you are so right about the struggle of finding high rise pants as an SD

I'm a SD and I'm an hourglass. I love my body shape but casual dressing is a pain for sure

Just like Hannah wrote below, I’ve always felt mildly uncomfortable in a more casual tee and jeans. Now I know why!! I’ve never heard anyone talk like you. This was superb! So helpful and so clear. Brilliant. Many thanks!! 👍👍

I naturally gravitated to a lot of these pieces and it’s so validating to see them in this video. It’s so true that true “casual” items make us look really weird. I do not own a single t shirt!

A wrap dress is a great casual option for us SD’s. It may not look casual on other body types, but on us it does. Also after years of wondering why I hated jeans on me, I realized we can look good in them if they hit at the natural waist, mimic our hourglass shape (think slightly flared from the knee), are long (past the ankle), and have no distressing. Long clean lines, and waist emphasis go a long way. We also look amazing in puffed or billowed sleeves. And I would say matching the tones on your top and bottom will go a long way in helping a casual outfit look harmonious on us. If I want to wear casual clothes, but not look frumpy, I will often wear black jeans with a black top together, either tucked at the waist or that naturally falls at my waist.

Wow i always felt so overdressed as casual clothes like jeans and tees made me feel somehow washed out or look inexpensive no matter the quality of those... i always instinctively gravitated towards many of the things mentioned here its really a great analysis

Amazing practical recommendations! Also, can you please make a video on:
• Identifying the differences between blunt vs. sharp bone structure under soft flesh/weight gain
• the differences between width seen in bone structure/musculature (Yang width) vs. width seen in abundant curves/soft flesh (Yin Width)

If possible, with models/examples that have more weight on them, because I see many that still don't know or see the differences between sharp/blunt, soft/athletic, and curve/width in bodies that have extra weight on them.
I struggle with these too, I'm 5'7-5'8 and I have soft flesh and I'm overweight. Hence, why I still don't know if I'm SD, SN, or FN.. I'm sure many women also have similar struggles and would like to see an informative and insightful video on it. I hope it's not too much to ask. :)

I’m 5’10” hourglass soft dramatic and I agree it is so hard to find jeans or pants in general with a high enough rise! It is so uncomfortable to wear pants that don’t come up enough it feels awful

This is really interesting! A few years ago I realized some clothes worked on me (blunt lines, tank tops, dresses with a v-neck, carrot pants..) and some just didn't (simple t shirts, baby doll dresses, buttoned up shirts ...). It's insightful to put some labels on it, I think I was trying to dress like a Gamine for a long time, while Dramatic looks, and especially SD are much more becoming for me.

This is really great but, through being tall and some generic issues that have come along with it, I really can't wear heels. But I'm not finding any recommendations for flat shoes. Like, brogues, loafers, boots... Even for those who do wear heels, we can't wear heels everyday. Please, please, please...flat shoes recommendations.

Argh, the high rise jeans when tall used to be impossible!! I am 5'11" and I bought so many jeans/pants that were labeled high-rise only for them to barely hit my belly button and like you said, even tucking with them cut me in half and never reached my true waist. I gave up on jeans/pants entirely for almost 10 years! Strictly wore dresses and skirts.

Absolutely am in love with the new high rise trend and have purchased several pair of jeans/pants from H&M that are a TRUE high rise on me and it has totally changed the game!!! Jeans, I'm back!!! 😍😍😍 Now I know what type of tops to pair with them, thank you!!

At first I thought I was a Soft Natural but now looking at your recommendations and your recommendations for Soft Natural, I really think I'm a SD based on how literally everything you put in this video matches the clothing that I've liked on myself vs. Soft Natural felt like a lot of the recommendations worked but not quite. My friends joke about me always having a nice outfit on but It's because I feel like I look sloppy in typical casual wear. So this adds up.

I also feel the best in more refined clothing. I also like emphasizing the shoulders even though they are very broad.
I am a good mix between dramatic and I have a romantic side.
I liked every piece you mentioned in the video and intuitively pick similar ones when I go shopping. Very interesting.

White House Black Market has wonderful light weight jeans. They fit perfectly and go with SD body type.

This was so helpful! I always wear maxi dresses because I look the best in them, but I need to go outside my comfort zone & this gave me some good ideas 💕💕💕

I don't think i have a casual clothing.. except sweaters and denim shorts.. anything else gives me the extra look..it always appears as if i really take my time to dress and i actually do.. gowns always make me look extra.. and glamorous even when I'm trying to be casual..
