Mercedes w211 (EIS) Ignition Switch Replacement

Replacing an ignition switch on a Mercedes w211 with a used one that the customer provided.

I had problem with EIS, but once I took it out, took it apart, clean those electrical contacts and connectors, and put it back together,
the problem went away.
I do believe much of these problems arise from corrosion of electric contacts.

Would that make the lights on the shift indicator lights stay on? P R N D? Along with the radio to be able to turn on?

Do you have to erase the donor/new eis before writing old/original eis data to it?

i got a question, the doors where unlocking/locking with the eis faulty? i have the same issue and i want to know if is the key or the eis :P

So u just made him a new key fob. How did u know the ignition switch was bad.? I have the same issue my e500 I went to the gas station and remote was working fine . Mind you I dropped it 2x and the remote stopped working left me stranded and had my car towed back home. I've had same issue in the past where my remote got soaked in water and stopped working . Called a key reprogram and he made me a new key and it started right up.

Excellent job and video. Where can I purchase the Computor hardware you used to read the EPROM and Flash files from the original and donor? Did the donor switch come with a key or were you able to use original key. Thank you for any response! I’m Kevin

Have you tried to change the normal eis to KEYLESS GO one? For example if i write EEPROM and FLASH to w209 eis but with different part number
