I have severe psoriasis and my scalp was like that in middle school and high school. I was a”popular girl” and my dad would spend hours nightly gently flaking away every single bit so my friends never knew. I miss you daddy

I had this and a Jamaican lady ( by the name of Odessa ) told me to get sulfur 8 and it changed my life. I think about her from time to time .

Love how professional the Doctor is, not reacting with shock or disgust

I have an obsession with picking dry skin/dandruff off my scalp. This is satisfying

I'm happy she has someone helping her to treat this, even if it's not the orthodox way. Her hair looks lovely and healthy.

I think she is doing a good job and is trying her best to help her client. She's actually being quite gentle and doing a beautiful job.

All I want is to watch it get completely done so I can sleep afterwards. 😂

I think something is wrong with me because I wanted to jump through the phone and remove all that! I know… I need to speak with a professional. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I was a hairstylist for 12 years and I had a client who had it worse than this whole scalp. Best way to do this is with gloves so no scratches from nails warm water, hot towels and tea tree or medicated shampoo.

My brother has sebhorric dermatitis. And for years derms we went to would act like he never bathed, was unclean, they’d freak out about it. Before going to the next doc, I’d called in advance and given them a talk about sensitivity cause I wanted the appointment to go well and to finally get a solution for my bro. The approach worked and finally his scalp cleared up with the right combo of meds. It was getting so bad that my bro, who had super thick and gorgeous locks, was getting bald spots and his hair type was thinning. Now we are back to bouncy but fab but SD is a really tough condition. It gets itchy but itching causes serious damage so getting the right combo of meds makes a world of difference

It must be satisfying to work on someone with a case like this. Being able to pull off those large flakes is so relieving yet satisfying

This is what we experienced. My daughter had this in middle school age. Used everything doctors recommended or prescribed. Finally! A dermatologist mentioned something different; the sugars contributes an overgrowth of yeast. I did not believe the doctor, but we started cutting back on the sugars and using prescribed shampoos. We finally started seeing a big difference. I realized that the yeast thrives on sugar.

Poor lady!
I have scalp psoriasis and it has been bad, but never quite that severe.
I sympathize with her and hope that she gets better soon!

Apply coconut oil (cold pressed) to the scalp. Coconut oil is antifungal. Melt it and put it in a squeeze bottle with a small tip. It worked after one try !! Leave it on the scalp for a while, then wash your head. Once it's dry, it will practically fall off. I had this and almost went bald from picking at it for months. Basically, pulling my hair out to pick it out.

The person with the comb is being incredibly gentle. Poor girl, that's got to be tough from a social perspective. :(

I have a small patch on the very edge of my scalp behind my head with this type of dermatitis and it's extremely satisfying to peel off the flakes in one big piece
