the simple fact that its implied Peppino has PTSD from timers ticking down. On a game were every level has a timer to get out of the place. Is brilliantly cruel

I love that this level drops any Pizza themeing whatsoever. It feels like the Tower's last card against Peppino by going for the throat and weaponizing his trauma against him.

Peppino: traumatized veteran, is forced to shoot clones of HIMSELF in a war-torn environment, this is seriously more evil than just blowing up his restaurant.

i like how "Don't make a sound" and "War" are the Lore levels of Pizza Tower.

We learn in Don't Make a sound that Pizza boy's pizza was the original restaraunt pizza face used. we learn in floor 5 he has the original pillar john which he used to save his business and here in War we learn how he made the pillar Johns to expand the tower and collect Toppins. War is not just peppino's memory of the War he once fought but its where Totino Pizzaface began construction of the pizza tower and his final gamble to save his business.

With every other level I can say it's a cruel joke by pizza face, but with war it's an attempted mental breakdown since Peppino has PTSD which is fucking psychotic when you think about it.

those violins hit HARD though, like they change the entire feel of the music from an average near future war to a final stretch to save yourself from death. Best of all is that this could fit extremely well in a few other games.

I love how at 0:42 the melody of The Death That I Deservioli comes in full force, the callback is real and the composer is a musical genius

While this game seems all goofy and fun, in the deep core, this is a game about an war veteran being threatened by a pizza man inside a pizza mech which is going to destroy his pizza place, the only lasting purpose in life he has.
