Totally agree with Naveen. In my company, we as testers involved in each stage of SDLC, starting from requirment gathering till deliveries including manual, automation both. infact our team treat us as backbone of project. 👍

Hi Naveen, getting those agony vibes from you after you saw this post when you describe the comparison. So, first, I would suggest you to take a deep breath and keep your calm. We see many posts on LI with which we do not agree. It's an utterly inappropriate comparison between SDET & Tester as per my knowledge and experience as well. You are so right...A few years ago, (for example: when I was working with Accenture, we have only these roles like Associate, Engineer-Test, Senior Test Engineer, Test Lead, Senior Software Test Engineer, etc., etc.), I had not heard of the SDET role then. And, more or less, Tester can do everything which SDET can do ( as per the above description). So, the above comparison was ruled out.

Agreed with Naveen. Totally a baseless comparison. Seen SDET guys doing functional testing as well. Same role but companies are calling with different names/degisnations.

Good analysis. Truth is Development, SDET and Automation Development are overlapping but not the same. Telling SDET is same as AT is like telling PM is same as PMO.
