It really depends on your finances and budget at the time. You can buy on older car cheaper but again depends on the condition, service history as well as the price. 👍

As a current Lexus owner (now on my third RX450h in a row) if I had the money I would buy the LC500 in a shot for 3 reasons
1) Total reliability
2) It's looks
3) The way it sounds
Which other manufacturers gives you a car like this that they believe in its reliability that they give a 10 year warranty on all their cars.

There are only 2 cars on this list I could buy and, as much as I want BMW to make a car I like, it would take a suitcase of cash in the boot to make me take an 8 series over an LC. EVs are out until I can charge them, plus they don't work well with a 220 mile commute even if it is every few weeks.

2-5 years is optimal for cars, depending on what you're buying - I'd always go for the oldest (and therefore cheapest) available one of the right model, generation and spec. For example, my current car had a 2017 facelift that gave it Auto/Carplay, so I bought a 2018. That reminds me, the driver's massage seat seems to have a dodgy connection, I keep forgetting to sort that out! Stupid as the massage function is, it makes a 5 hour drive on a Monday morning or Friday night feel much more manageable.
