I feel fortunate. Ever since receiving my driver's license in 1977 Grand Tourers have been my favorite form of car. These have always represented the best possible value for money. The list of absolute gems that have cost me next to nothing that I have owned is long and brings a warm feeling to my heart. Ok, the odd largish repair bill and inevitable extra petrol and insurance costs, but these were more than worth it. If you are going to go down this road, it is best to do so with the intention of driving the thing into the ground. Do not expect the thing to end up anywhere other than the crusher when you have finally finished with it. Just fill the thing with oil and gas and drive it until the wheels drop off or not even your mate that owns the MOT station can pass it without fearing for your personal safety. Don't get me wrong I could easily get the finance of a brand new anything, one of the reasons why is that I don't waste money on stupid cars or on trying to impress my neighbors or anyone else.

Great vid, this is exactly the type of car I like. I commute an hour a day and the 6 series will be my next car. Currently in a high mileage (220k) 3 series 330d and shows no sign of stopping, that straight 6 BMW 3 litre engine is incredible.

I was expecting to see the CL500 instead of the SL500. It is more of a grand tourer than the convertible and it can be easily found for under £10k.

With all due respect…. I ALWAYS have to turn the volume down when you’re talking in the mic in your intros…… then it’s still quite loud…. This new Mic is so softer sounding and in my opinion so much better….. btw the volume issue has never stopped me from watching your great vids!!! Keep up the great work!

Mic sounds decent. I reckon this is a good price for these older GT cars, can get the ones in good enough condition to not be money pits. I feel like at £5k they'll cost more in the long run.

Doing my 3rd and 4th long (5+ hour) run this month on Sunday/Monday, starting to think I really need to get something more GT-like fairly soon! If I get any time to test drive anything...
