Ukraine stations troops on 'frontline' region as Russian threat mounts

Ukrainian soldiers have been stationed in Avdiivka, a significant city in the country's eastern Donetsk region that was a main front line between government troops and Russian-backed rebels in 2017.

Some British embassy staff and their dependants are being pulled out of Kyiv in response to the mounting Russian threat to Ukraine.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy thanked the EU for their solidarity and support during his country's standoff with Russia, which has massed troops along their shared border.
