The Master Mason who taught me masonry says, use whatever it takes to get the cement into the joints. Also, to match certain colors take that soil you used and mix a paint with dirt and water use an acid brush and you will now have a weathered not a new glaring repair job staring you in the face. Dirt is the best stain. Remember to wipe up drips with a wet clean sponge dipped in clean water every time to rinse so you have a clean paint job. Masonry is forgiving as long as you start with an appropriate mix. Creativity and masonry go hand in hand. My favorite strenuous, workout hobby. Wish I would have started this hobby before I was sixty years old. In my next life I'm coming back as a master mason instead of a machine tool salesperson. Happy masonry.

Everything said above is great advice. If I could and one thing is please don't mix colored cement products over grey slab. Costly mistake made by many of us. Great video.
