I coughed and i ended up going to emergency due to the needle breaking. Dont cough if your doctor looks nervous

I tried that. I donated blood and the nurse got startled when I coughed, and shoved the needle in the wrong place. I believe she got me in one of my veins. She quickly pulled the needle out and I started squirting blood all over the floor. I passed out and ended losing about a pint of blood. They didn't take any of it because all of it was contaminated by the floor.

Guys! Please do not cough, I haven't done it but the comments are saying "I coughed and I had to go to the emergency room"
So don't do that, the needle led is like one of those push up pencil leds, they break easily. DO NOT COUGH.

Guys try and just hum a peaceful song and think of happy things and if you have a ipad or something just play a game on it and you wont feel a thing! It works! I tried it before.

Oh hell no don’t cough it’s gonna make it worse by the needle breaking off then you’re gonna have to get emergency surgery just relax and the needle will go through if you’re tense the muscle tightens which makes you feel it here’s the tip “Relax and let it happen” depending on how you are at being relaxed

i was always scared of getting a shot (even now though i’m old enough to not show it). my father comforted me and told me to hold my breath while getting a shot or just whenever you’re about to experience pain. it actually works! i tried without holding my breath and then with holding my breath and i felt less pain holding my breath! idk how it works but it just does. just another quick tip :)

NEVER DO THIS. This can cause the frail needle to snap and break then you will have to be rushed to the hospital... Again anyways. Instead here is my trick- loosen up your shoulder make it relax, then right before you get your shot count to twenty out loud

Just squeeze someone’s hand a parent or a friend. Bring along someone for support. That is what I do when I have to have needle procedures. For shots, blood draws, ivs, scans that require iv contrasts, anything. I have been through 6 surgeries and have been through quite a bit of needle procedures, but I am still scared of needles. So having someone there for moral support is really helpful

Hi I have an enormous fear of needles and shots. Most of these comments say that coughing does not work and will just make this worse. I am getting the first of many shots I need to get tomorrow but I still don’t have a good plan of what I need to do to not totally freak out. If you are in the same situation or have any advice on what to do please leave me a comment.
