------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This video is really for teaching players who know how to play the game. Of course, if they don't know, teach them how to short hop, how to tilt, what controls they should use etc. but when it comes to going beyond that, a lot of it is slowly giving tips and show by playing.

Playing the ditto and stealing their tech is always recommended. Rematch that on Elite Smash big time

Teaching smash to someone is really hard because you can’t say “Use up-B to recover” or they have no idea what your talking about.

It’s like getting somewhere you’ve never been. I can show you the map but YOU gotta be the one to drive. Excellent video bro! 🤘🏽

This is what I always tell new players: I can give them info on where to start, but it's up to THEM to create their own path to greatness. Nail on the head as always DKBill.

really helpful advice, bro. I have a tendency to go overboard when teaching and overload people with info, so I'm going to consciously use your approach to keep my brother enthusiastic at learning the game for himself.

I've taught multiple people not how to BE good at the game, but how to GET good at this game. So much so that a lot of them are able to beat me now! Some just me, because they've adapted to my specific playstyle, but still, it's really satisfying! And yeah, I agree! It's not possible to get people far who don't want to get far!

3:10 Yo, I'm not trying to make them a competitive god, I'm just trying to make it where they don't die as soon as they fall off the stage.

Good ideas, if they can’t recover on stage then play on walk offs at first. If they never shield then try an exercise to practice shield like shooting Missles but don’t move let them hit you if they can get close. The two ppl I’ve seen improve over time learned by playing free for all’s with no items, can just learning that way,

My friends would say they hate dittos and they complain too much about Smash's "jank" so...

I play doubles! It's fun because it's not as competitive or frustrating. Against CPUs mainly because WiFi is another hurdle for newer players

Yeah you’re right, my friend hates when I try to explain RAR bairs.. but maybe if I hit him with the Kirby combos he might replace his Brick landing tactics haha

2:23 Bro that doesn't work if the opponent doesn't know what down tilt is or how to down tilt, hell I'm really good at smash and I still struggle with executing a down tilt, also I know almost every character moves but don't know their tilts.

The Harvard Business Review magazine made an article essencially about teaching. The artical is called The Feedback Fallacy. It would mean a lot if you gave it a look :)

Me and my brother got into Smash around the same time, back in Smash 4. We more so learned alongside each other, until Ultimate's release, where I really started taking the series seriously. I started outpacing him and tried to teach him what I had learned myself, but that didn't work. What you're saying definitely makes sense- anything I tend to say outright doesn't really get acknowledged or remembered, only what he succeeds in doing. Which, isn't often because I don't really let up when I play. You really think I should try going easy on him?
