Story 2: I looked it up, per OP, the husband has refused therapy several times, so she's tried to get him into therapy.

Story 1 reminds me of that other story where OP's boyfriend kept telling her she smelled rancid everyday, only for the truth being that he lied everytime in order to make her feel pathetic, and that she should worship the BF for wanting to stay with her.

Story 2 has a small detail in the comments: he has REFUSED therapy saying that op is trying to "erase his past" and is being controlling. And his mother seemingly threatened OP by saying "leave it alone for your own good" Divorce the dude as he's obviously not going to change.

Last story - That comment was spot on. All the sister learned was that staying quiet and hiding the infidelity was the better move. She's highly unlikely to take responsibility for flushing her marriage down the drain.

Story 2: I agree with OP. Yes, the husband really sounds like he needs deep therapy, but in the case of an emergency, his inaction could contribute to someone's death and that is a major dealbreaker.

Like, dude, money can be earned, weight can be lost, athletic body can be built, but a person cannot grow taller. To mock someone for their height is downright disgusting. We were born this way. You cannot change someone's race and height.

Story 2: I’m a child abuse survivor, there’s NO WAY I would use my trauma to IGNORE A FAMILY EMERGENCY!!!! There’s just NO WAY, you are WILLINGLY ignoring your child in an EMERGENCY. If the husband doesn’t care to improve, refuses therapy AND is allowing his family to harass you? Yeah divorce is the only healthy option.

How long until this happens again? What if the injury is worse, will he sit there are someone bleeds out? Will he allow someone to choke because he refuses to help? The fact the NEIGHBOURS had to get involved just shows to me that even they understood “your husband doesn’t care to protect his family and we know he won’t listen to reason, we’ll just take you to hospital ourselves.”

He isn’t someone you can trust your family around, and honestly I’d be using this case to fight for sole 100% custody and he can only receive supervised visits. Man’s proven he doesn’t care about the safety of his children at all and is willing to weaponise his trauma to make everyone else suffer, he isn’t safe to be around.

Story 3: and what about how you stepped up when the family needed you to? Your sitter was sick and you picked up the slack for everyone and $800 to contribute to a used car. Not to mention you didn’t say anything, they asked when you didn’t jump over the moon for a $25 gift card and a book. I get their happy their daughter no longer has cancer, and that something to celebrate, but do not treat her better than everyone else then get mad when your kids are legit upset about it.

Story 6: She says she was unhappy with the relationship, but instead of talking it out with her husband, she does the very thing that lead to the destruction of her social life as a 16 year old. Honestly, it's probably better that OP tells the husband, because there exists a chance that the husband could find out himself and be even more devastated.

At first I found it oddly funny, but it's now raking my nerves how every time a man cheats and is exposed, it is always followed by "his family tried to talk me out of separation" and every time it's a woman, it's "her girlfriends came at me saying that I should not have done it and give her another chance". BUZZ OFF.
