I did have stiches on my wrist (from falling into glass) when I was like in 6th grade. One of the stiches ended up digging into my flesh, and got infected (I guess it broke inside, and when I tried to remove it, I pushed it in deeper? I don't really know how it happened). Months later, was still kinda there, and I could even see it under the skin when the wound got infected. Went and cut open the skin to dig it out, though the doctor that did it couldn't find it, so they closed it back up and sent me home. Myself, being the curious brat I was, opened it back up the next day, and found the little wire, and pulled it out myself. Fun times.
Years later, I still have the scar, and the center of the scar is like a dot, which is where the "suture" was embedded.

My doctor forgot a small part of the thread under my skin when he removed my stiches one time. It didn't get infected or anything, so I didn't realize until weeks later. And I swear, squeezing the thread out was one of the most satisfying things I have ever seen lol

I had those blue stitches in my neck. The nurse had a lot of trouble getting at them because she was doing a lot of digging so apparently she just left them in. After it healed over, there was always a blue tinge under the scar. Almost 2 years later, I got two tiny pimples along the scar line...one little little blue stitch popped out of each one, each still tied in their little loops.

Super glue IS the medical equivalent of super glue (it was made for battlefield wounds)

I've had 4 surgeries, zero external stitches so far. 120ish staples and a bunch of weird tape, but no stitches.

I had "dissolvable" glue used to close a wound and about a year later dug out a fairly sizeable chunk of solid glue. So much for dissolvable.

My doctor forgot one of the stitches in my finger when they removed them, because it had gotten buried. It would be randomly painful when I grabbed things, but I thought it was just leftover pain from the injury.
A family member who was a nurse finally figured it out after several months of that stitch being in there. She dug it out with a tweezer and removed it fairly easily. It was such a relief. But I definitely have a hardened scar on my finger from that.
