VIC3 has been out for almost two years, and in that time it has undergone some dramatic changes through VIC3 DLC, Free Patches, and more. Finally the first so-called "expansion" has been released for Victoria 3 with Sphere of Influence alongside the VIC3 1.7 patch. So today I wanted to go into my thoughts on Sphere of Influence, how I feel it effects Victoria 3 as a game, and whether I think you should buy it!

Honestly I’m so excited for this update. I’m one of the few Victoria 3 defenders who’s loved this game since day 1 and I’m so glad the game seems to be moving closer to the game I want it to be

They really should’ve just released this for free to earn some good publicity after the mediocre life of Victoria 3 so far. So many important features locked behind $30. Gotta love paradox

Hey. How does the diplomacy perform now? In the past there was no logic in the AI behavior so playing on ironman wasn't worth it because you could know who would join which side and how other countries would react to a war. Let's say as Russia I want a province from Austria and I save the game. Half of the big countries join me but after reload all countries support Austria. Like I said there was no logic. How is it now? Are there finaly rules to learn and how to make politics? Does the diplomatic game finally work?

I’ve been try a enjoy this game since I downloaded the leak lol but it’s just a meh game vic 2 is just enjoyable positioning troops while your economy grows without buildings taking 7 years to complete and vic 2 had more features than this crap

$15 or maybe 20. As much as I like the idea and the direction it’s moving, 30 is too much for foreign investments outside of subjects, journal entries, and non-trade league international blocs

This is just pure cash grab. Selling a Dlc the same price of the base game as a cover up for developing a half baked base game is an absolute slap in the face for fans

buying dlcs just enables them to sell dlc for a broken game that needs fixed and massive QOL and performance fixes

Seems like ill just pirate this DLC. Near essential mechanics that should have been in the game from launch locked behind a 30 dollar paywall. The game itself is 50 dollars. Is SoI worth 60% of a game?
