Pretty impressed by what I see. They've upgraded what needed upgrading and kept the stuff that worked well. I think they've nailed that middle-of-the-road sector of the market, with 4x4 performance that will be at or near the top, at a reasonable price. This will sell well.

I know people don’t like premieres - it’s just an easy way to let everybody know we have content coming that’s under an embargo (which means we can’t publish it beforehand).

More interested in the next generation of the Delica that is expected to come to Australia and hopefully an off road performance version. I don't like dual cab pickups as a bodystyle.

Is this the Navara based ute? My Navara still runs on YD25 and pretty satisfied with it, got this after passing over my Wildtrak 2.0 biturbo to my son because I just can't get used to the light steering and unnatural power curve

Good to see it is still a very 'Mitsubishi' vehicle despite joining Renault/Nissan. Kept super select etc, improved the previous gen motor rather than going a Renault abomination of an engine. Good stuff. Hopefully we see Nissans get better, rather than Mitsubishi's get worse.

I used to hate the rear of the pajero sport, now i hate the front of the Triton. But the vehicle looks great and seems to be like a great drive. Love your reviews.

Super duper reliable Mitsubishi. My family has been driven Mitsubishi since birth. Now I want this. I feel like the front was designed that way on purpose for aftermarket dress up. Look at Thailand now, they dress up this new Trition with aftermarket accessories like a King!

The rear air fan system is not from Pajero Sport, Paul. It was never in Pajero Sport. It was in previous-gen Triton

Looks are subjective but damn. This looks ugly. And the interior looks dated already.

It’s definitely a nice looking vehicle inside and out. Looks like it performs well. At the risk of upsetting the Toyota fan club I’d say much better value for money than hilux or 70 series.

Pajero sport rear ceiling air con is actually cooled separately, it's not passed through like this triton.

This looks really compelling. Triton is no longer the cheaper "little brother" any more. That goes to LDV, GWM so they have appropriately positioned themselves in the middle. All the updates look really good. Torque on paper doesn't appear to be representative of actual driving performance. The two big improvements for me however are that the tub overhang is now sorted via longer wheelbase so you can put a tray on with better load distribution and the width has also increased. I think for a $10-$12k difference to Ranger/Hilux, I think this is a compelling package. Especially as in my view the tritons have proven to reliable over the years, and recent issues with Rangers concern me no matter how comfortable they are. Yes I'm sure the dealer fixes it all under warranty but the sheer inconvenience not only takes up your time but for others can cost you money if using for business/work.

If they have sorted out the rear diff lock engagement. Then I will be buying these for my company. They are reliable I have driven Mitsubishi for years . living in South Africa this bakkie is appealing because the chances of being shot for it are basically nil compared to it competitors such as Ford and Toyota . Now we need a phev bakkie 😊

Ive had a few Mitsubishi 4WDs and they've always delivered in terms of durability and reliability.

I like how Mitsubishi keeps their design and engineering in Japan (with local suspension tuning).

Allot of manufactures have gone to America or Europe for their design and engineering but this looks to be another long lasting, over thought 4WD built to good old Japanese standards.
