How to check your car’s engine oil level | AUTODOC tips

You should check the engine oil level at least every 2,000 km.

Don't wait until the dashboard oil light comes on – take care of engine lubrication in advance.

In this video we'll show you how to do it properly.

0:00 — How to check your car’s engine oil level
0:05 — 1. Park your car on an even surface.
0:10 — 2. Turn off the engine and wait 10–15 minutes. This is the time required for the oil to settle into the oil pan.
0:22 — 3. Take a clean, light-coloured cloth.
0:28 — 4. Pull out the oil dipstick and wipe it dry.
0:42 — 5. Push the clean dipstick all the way in then and pull it out again.
0:55 — 6. Carefully inspect the dipstick. The oil mark will come up to a certain point on it, indicating the level of oil in your engine. It should be between the ""min"" and ""max"" lines.

The marks are not hot or cold ... It's "H" and "L" ... H for high, L for low.
