Far across the hills, past brooks and twisting, golden woodlands, lies a land known as The Kingdom of Autumn. The people there are peceful folk, just like you and I, who live lives filled with love, labor and friends.
Today, we embark on a journey alongside some of these people as they carve out their own place in the Kingdom of Autumn. A place called Waddlesquash.

Laying down boards to kill saplings off really isn't that weird. People do similar things in real life in order to kill off weeds and underbrush without tilling the bejesus out of the soil and killing off the beneficial microbial networks in the process. I like seeing something like that in a game like DF.

You can remove saplings much more easily by "building" dirt roads over them as well, just so you know.

This was inspirational Krugg, what a neat idea to just keep it all a small farming type village. You could try ejecting any migrants that come in that worship a different god or something like that to help keep the numbers down. Also maybe just train 3 or 4 "sheriffs" to keep the community safe from the odd threats that will inevitably pop up.

I personally love the idea of watching seven pumpkins do little things for 10 episodes or more! This mod is adorable and super chill. I like thrills too, but switching it up is good, IMO :D
