I'd like to see Kap squeeze a good season out of this, because I don't think there is any way he is back next year even as a RFA. They will have to buyout Zucker and let Kap walk to have any chance at keeping Malkin, Rust, Letang and Rodrigues, and possibly Anaheim Guy. I still think it's possible Kap moves by the deadline. No one wants Zuckers contract, but any chance someone takes the pair? Heck, throw in DeSmith and you've got an expansion team, lol.

If they have to put Rodriguez on the 3rd line, that wouldn't be a bad thing. I'm of the opinion that Teddy Blueger is a very under-rated 3rd liner. He could really shine with a scoring center on his line. That could legitimately be the best 3rd line in hockey. Which is huge.

Even Rodrigues is playing like the kind of player I thought Beau Bennet could have been.

Your Malkin point is off because you are assuming Geno would want a pay raise . It is more likely he will make a little less than his current contract pays so that will help the Penguins in regards to cap space
