The thing I find frustrating is it takes the first letter as LAW. Typos can happen at the start, especially on these tiny touch screens!

That still doesn't explain why my phone insists on changing the word "is" to "I'd"

My autocorrect corrects "Elliot" to "ELLiot"

As a flow typer on phones, I can say that Google's autocorrect has gotten *a lot* worse lately - it seems to insistently force a selection of words that I rarely or never type in place of words I use frequently, and the dynamic dictionary frequently adds random typos after a single instance, preferentially inserting them in place of the correct spelling in many cases.

‘Apoopheadumdumidiotpoo’ was saved into my personal dictionary in 2ND GRADE

The worst part is when it “corrects” the word I’m trying to spell to another correctly spelled word that makes no sense in context. For example, it’s rather annoying when you’re trying to write “good” and it replaces it with “hood” for no apparent reason, or vice versa.

Gotta love how often autocorrect corrects the word "its" into "it's" when it's way wrong. Sometimes even only after you finish the sentence so you have almost no chance of noticing it.

Call me a boomer, but every time I buy a new phone the first thing I do is turn off autocorrect completely. It's just too annoying to deal with and I find it's just quicker to spell the words myself rather than having to double check everything and ending up correcting it anyway. Plus, as a non native English speaker it's a good way to always stay on top of my English and spelling. And if a couple of mistakes slip through, well, I take full responsibility lol!

Mine keeps trying to capitalize random words in the middle of a sentence that don't need to be capitalized.

One of my biggest pet peeves is autocorrect keeps trying to correct the word "said" as "Saud." I have no idea why, but it's a consistent problem.

The “we’re” autocorrect when i’m trying to say “were” is infuriating though

Mine's definitely been getting worse lately. I need to erase my dictionary, but I'm hesitating because I don't want to reteach it the weird words I do actually use. The WORST thing is if you start a sentence or line with a word ONCE, it seems to get stuck and always capitalize that word from then on. Basically anything that's ever been in my to-do list or to-pack list is perpetually capitalized and it drives me up the wall. And I don't understand why it chooses to do that!

My autocorrect sometimes gets a REAL English word and changes it to a non-english word that I have never seen in my life

If we are relying on AI for our spelling when AI takes from our spelling to learn to spell...

All AI is derivative. The spelling errors WILL get worse. 😂

I had a friend accidentally teach his phone “liek” rather than “like”

Problem is it assumes you didn't hit keys accidentally or are reversing things. So if you have big fingers or dyslexia its useless.

i keep thinking autocorrect will correct when i accidentally do “yhe” instead of “the”, but it never does

Android let's you remove specific words from the autocorrect dictionary

Adversely, I think implementing the ChatGPT into autocorrect has definitely made its worse in a way where it’s is more unpredictable than before

It's not so much my spelling sucks, it's that my thumbs don't agree with these touch screen keyboards. I miss phones with physical keyboards
