This truck came to Elite Fleet Automotive with some major issues, but after changing timing chains and a few other things, it was running great. So Nate took it on a test drive to confirm that all was good, and found out that it had one more little issue....

As a mechanic I love seeing what the tow trucks bring in. This video was fun

I am always amazed by your pickup truck’s ability to magically become a tow truck!

At 2:58 there is a K5 Blazer. I just met an 85 year old man in an RV Park near Mt. Shasta, CA. using his K5 to tow his 1970's trailer, and his 85 year old wife. He said he is the original owner. EVERYTHING about is original, inside and out, and it purrs. He says he has been offered boo coo bucks over the years. Keep at it Casey! Blessings all.

Casey I just love your sarcasm, I'm right there with you when it comes to roundabouts we have them here and they are a pain in the back side.

That customer is very fortunate to have a mechanic who actually listens to them and works to reproduce the problem instead of saying "well, it works for me."

Usually I am envious of your temp there (I’m in the UK, usually miserable and wet) but we have 104°f here with 33% humidity. The country has turned into a grease spot, roads are melting etc. Just back in from watering the concrete 😉. Love how you chill out at the ac while your camera goes and makes video 😂 great job as always

The problem with new roundabouts is people treat the yield signs like stop signs. The second biggest is people that stop in the circle.

As a car owner, i appreciate a tow operator who would spend the extra time dollying up my cars so.

Ford's IWE requires vacuum to unlock the hubs. So if the engine not running, the hubs are locked.

Love your sarcasm about the traffic issues.

Once upon a time i towed a scrap car (heading to recycling) from the rear and had the front rolling on ground. The steering lock broke and car started to sway... A dolly under the front prevents that problem as well as protects the gears.

Casey: Can you weld a couple of square tube pieces to your dolly, and use those to pin in a slightly smaller square tube riser that you could attach the lights? Might be a solution to the non-steel autos you tow.

I like the awnings on your truck. Shade is always a premium in this weather. By the way are current temp. is Round 100+°

This may be addressed in other comments but; ford’s 4WD actuators lock the front hubs by relaxing the vacuum supply that pulls the ring gear connectors away from the wheel ends during normal driving but if the engine isn’t running there’s no vacuum so the hubs lock into the axles. The great thing about this though is when the transmission is in 2WD and the hubs disengage, there’s no wear being put on the front axles and the whole front drivetrain is allowed to rest and this prolongs bearing and seal life.
