A Ferrari Enzo has been left with only two wheels after a huge crash in the Netherlands. To make matters even more awkward, it seems the responsible party wasn’t an owner. According to local news outlet De Gooi-en Eemlander, the wreck happened while the Enzo was being test-driven by a mechanic from a business in nearby Hilversum on Tuesday morning. Thankfully, he’s said to have been released by medics at the scene after checks.

"Is there anything worse in Life than crashing a customer's car"...? Uh... Yes.

Let's be honest, all manufacturers should do that. Would decrease the inflation of normal cars.

Ferrari will repair it. All you need is a vin tag and they will rebuild it. At a huge cost

Ferrari lied about the production numbers of the Enzo. There are at least 435 that have been found, and that's an old figure. There have probably been more found. Estimates are over 500. And that's not rebuilt ones.

Yup I know of a autobody painter that was working for the Ferrari dealership in Scottsdale AZ . One day a coworker asked him if he wanted to go for a quick spin and it lasted about all of 3 minutes and then boom right into a wood power pole. The person that reported the accident was a guy who was servicing a phone line and said that the car looked like a bee flying by then a loud crash. Passenger that I know broke both legs and had to be cut out of the car and the driver was a fair bit less hurt until the owner of the shop got called and had to explain what happened to the customers car and how he could make it right!

Friend of mine used to be a Ferrari mechanic. On a test drive with a 456GT the engine blew up. They later found out that a small piece of plastic got into the engine during manufacturing. It went well for a while until it blocked oil flow to one cylinder bank's valve train. Ouch.

There is way more than 400 Enzos. Someone has tracked actual on the road cars globally, and the total number of registered Enzo Ferraris is at least 650. At least 17 are total ground up factory replacement chassis cars from just a surviving VIN Tag on cars reduced to ashes and aluminum slag caused by Ferrari Spontaneous Combustion Syndrome. The Enzo gifted to The Pope is Chassis #401, for example. Ferrari constantly lies about the total production of "Limited Edition" models. If an oil sheik wants a fleet of Enzos, those are not counted in the "Official" production numbers. Pay Ferrari enough, and you can get a brand new, but unofficial F40 built, there are NDAs involved, though.

Keeping it to material damage on the workplace:

A truck driver running under a low bridge five miles from his destination and ruining a printing unit that cost over a million dollars and took nearly a year to build. This resulted in the unit having to be shipped back to Germany, repaired and shipped back to the US half a year later. The delay in getting that press up and running caused nearly a year of backlog, overtime, insurance losses, lawsuits, productivity losses…..

That’s gotta be the worst day of that man’s life.

High HP mechanics, if expected to test drive, should be taught how to drive such cars

Any car that is worth such amounts will never be lost. They will always be repaired and rebuilt, either by enthusiasts or the manufacturers themselves. If you crash a Pagani, they will take it back and upgrade it for you. Rowan Atkinson totaled his McLaren F1 twice, and it was rebuilt twice, because these cars cannot be replaced.

A rare GIANT W for Ferrari. I absolutely love and support that practice!

I'm an apprentice mechanic, and the thought of crashing a customer's car just haunts me. Especially since I plan to work on classic cars.

One of “400” more like 600, Ferrari lied about the numbers to their most loyal customers.

I do auto collision work and I burnt a Honda crv to the ground welding a new quarter panel on it. Lit the goal insulation on fire and I didn’t notice till it was far too late. The owner was very cool about it and obviously insurance and stuff but I felt very stupid

As a mechanic, I can tell you that guy will never work in that field again. It sucks being punished for a stupid mistake, but thats a mistake that should have never been made. No excuses!
