I upgraded my rental like this and my landlord was so impressed and lowered my rent by few dollars.

Where I live, my Dollar Tree has foil backsplash for $1 for in 1 yard x 17 inches sheets. It only took 2 and less than a half sheets to install my backsplash. It looks fabulous and is completely removable. It was a fun project that took about one hour.

In all my years I have never seen anyone apply contact paper to a floor, I must say, ; you did an amazing job! Please keep us updated on how your floor holds out! 🙏🏻🌻

You are the real MVP! My mind is blown. I did my countertops with contact and I wash them all the time with zero issues so I am sure floors will hold up just fine. This was very satisfying to watch.

OMG I am totally doing this in my bathroom! We just bought our first home and until we have money saved up for true renovations, the 'cheap, but aesthetic' route will have to be the way I go! Thank you so much for posting this!

Great Job! I did my kitchen floor with contact paper, 9 years ago
Yes it is still looking good. I damp mop the floor, spills are easy to clean up. I prefer to use my sponge mop. Enjoy the fruits of your Labour! Paper Doll!

I was wondering what the heck you purchased from dollar tree that could be flooring. That's so cool!

I love that it shows the pattern of the original flooring. Gives it a cooler look 😊

That’s freaking genius! I use Swiffer to “mop” my floors, so I bet this would hold up for awhile. And even if it didn’t, this is a super inexpensive project! Thanks for sharing!

I am getting up in age and everything old is new paper used to get put on and in EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING including ceilings and vehicles....and no it doesn't last forever but if the surface is squeaky clean n it's protected from too much moisture it can last til ur sick of looking at it and occasionally be a pain to remove. On floors we used to remove molding first so it can help prevent rolling edges and then seal with poly after installed....(spot check poly....some can be damaging)..damp mop....use felt on chairs and no high no shoes in the house policy can help save ALL floors excess wear and reduce filth. TFS!

I also did this with fablon in grey in my tiny kitchen and hallway. It does wear over time but as it’s so cheap, it’s easy to just replace. Looks fab xx

Anyone thinking about doing this: the glass squeegee is CRUCIAL for getting bubbles out. Its a nightmare to lay this contact paper in large surfaces without a squeegee.

❤ Love how this DIY turned out. Put a coat or 2 of clear outside polyurethane on it. It should withstand water for any spills on it.

I once lived in an apartment that had cringeworthy countertops, so yucky, chipped just gross - I covered them with a pretty patterned contact paper and voila ! Looked great

Your floor looks awesome ! Good job
