Hi, I know this is old, but you can take the plate off by unscrewing the plate take it off then cut a slit in it and once you put the plate back on you won't be able to tell the difference because the plate will cover the slit👍🏽

I would suggest take the outlet plate off first before you cut that way any imperfections will be covered when you put it back on. Also move the stove, to make it easier to install. Just a tip.
