I just don't know what to say about this. But fact until the load boards don't start to show $2.80 average in the US, we are nowhere out of the whole.

I was doing better than $2.17 10 years ago

When load boards are showing $3 a mile that's about what break even is after all expenses including replacement equipment costs.
Fuel is also rising.
$2 a mile is still losing money for dry van.
The brokers are making a killing.

Rates should always be at the cost of fuel per gallon at a min

Great info! I felt that the slowdown was due to nervousness over the election. The fact that business is picking up lets you how they feel about the result.

6% for dispatch service is a ripoff. And no truck payment on that balance sheet.

Nothing less than 4 dollars a mile.. especially if you ran in new york

I was making $4 to $8. A mile 100 mile minimum. Short haul 150 mile radius Of Cincinnati Oh. On average $1200 a day less miles less fuel. Flat Bed
I’ve pick up loads for $500 and only went 50 miles road. Or 3 local deliveries for $1200 a day OTR more miles less pay. Higher fuel cost. Big trucking companies pay their drivers Slave wages.

You should enter the industry when the load is paid a buck and fuel a buck, load 10 bucks but fuel 10 as well 1:1 2;2 …

So, that’s $0.50 worth of fuel per mile overall, average ?
🤔
Maybe if you have slick new truck, or never come to a stop…
(Or shut the engine off every time you do 🤔 )

I don’t see any change out here yet! Everything looks good on the second half of this year. On average from my calculations is about a thousand drivers per week are going home w/o any job prospects. It’s going to be a long time before I get down the road like before fuel prices went out of control-

Freight in the Northern of California is dead i see no loads and the loads that are posted are very cheap. I work directly with a shipper and they cut our loads per week so on my side i dont see any improvement at all

This is an absolutely wrong. Or it may be for brokers because they are still screwing the drivers. Pay your drivers not the brokers. So tell the truth.
