In this video we create our "Stance" functionality. What is "Stance"? All A.I characters have a "Stance" stat. Upon receiving damage, depending on the intensity the "Stance" stat will decrease. If left alone long enough without receiving damage, it will regenerate. Should the "Stance" stat fall below 0, the A.I Character will play a "Stance Break" animation, allowing them to receive a critical strike.

Finally, after my least favorite part (UI, UI, and more UI menus), we arrived to one of the best game elements!
On the network update: I just re-checked and the first episode started with Unity 2021. It will go out from LTS, as soon as Unity 6 will be released, aka pretty soon. If we consider that, it is pretty outdated, and when Unity 6 comes out all the newcomers will use that, with the recommended netcode 2.0.0. So my vote is on Update, or at least consider a video for those who want to update, how to refactor the current code, and how to carry on in the future.

Anyways, a huge thanks for the video, and all the work you put into it!

This series is just the best series out there. Honestly.

I'd stay with this version, just for "simplicity". The way you are structuring the code makes very easy for anyone to just follow the documentation for the new version and update the RCP's.

BTW: are we gonna do archery? :D

Personally, if you dont see any benefit or necesity to update or get a better result, id say keeping it as it is might be it, keep slaying!

I'm in 2 minds with this as the new version does have useful changes but I believe if best for you to stick with the old. Translating to the new seems pretty easy too

it would be great if you did bloodborn, I know Im asking to much and Im being to harsh considering I don;t do any of the work and will never because im not as skiled and good as you are but yes. Demon Souls and Bloodborn are the games you should be making.

Silly question: I can't remember, have we already in-video hooked up the checkpoints/boss-fogs and defeated values up with the saving system, or should we go plug that in on our own when we feel ready to do so? I added the ability to save the level we were in, but I don't believe I've hooked those other things up yet.

As far as switching/ upgrading to the Newest version, I generally wait a bit before adopting new tech until I've had time to "kick the tires" so to speak. I'm more speaking from my experience in using 3ds max, adopting the latest update only to discover that all the animation rigs are broken. As someone who is learning to code on his own (and your wonderful videos :)) it might be a good experience to have a video to demonstrate what it takes to do a code upgrade in the project, what the best approach would be from a coder's perspective.

Ok... so I have a *controversial request/ suggestion... I'm loving the series (you know *WAY* more about Unity "and coding in general" than I do... *but 😅)... I'd love to see this project done with Unity's DOTS (ECS, Jobs, Burst Compiler, etc.).
I know it's *Highly* unlikely; but I just wanted to put it out there!

DOTS *is Unity's "selling point" (at this point)... and I'm sure *most people (like myself. Edit: but probably not the guys already watching) are more interested in learning things along those lines ("more views"). 🤔

I don't think it is worth it to update to the newer version. I think we should keep going with the current version
