This song is about me and my husband and our hardship in marriage! He is my call in life and the Mountains still are not high enough for him to be gone and gone again!! I love him and miss him!

A written song and best sang by Diana Ross, to me is a eternal promise to the ones I love to keep deep in their hearts and memories. I will walk or climb mountains or roads, swim rivers and oceans if they ever need me ❤❤

People who have good taste, people who recognize quality talent. That’s who listens to this in the year of 2023. You should also check out James Marshall Hendrix in his early years and chicken shack in the mid 60s, look them up it’s not too late for you.

I love the Gaye/Terrell version and I get why people tend to think of it as the quintessential. It's the more palatable pop song, structurally and in an aesthetic sense. As far as I'm concerned though, Ross's version is what it's all about. The backing vocals, the dynamics, and that peak intensity leading into the final chorus is just pure, raw energy and vocal genius. One of the masterpieces of the era.
