This is the Chinese way of reciprocating friendship, when a leader walks an extra mile to have friendship with China. As Modi ji already had some sound relationship with China, while he was CM of Gujarat, he walked that extra mile when he became PM to express his honest gratefulness and to strengthen India's ties. If people remember, China did the same, as Xi landed in Gujarat, simultaneously PLA too illegally landed in Ladakh and this continued till Doklam. So from my point of view, Jr Marcos deserve that gift for walking that extra mile. This is the Chinese traditional way of reciprocating for extending the hand of friendship.
