A weaver ant fortress comes under attack from a neighbouring colony but is the home guard enough to defend and protect the next generation? Taken from Life Story.

I once witnessed an ant colony raid an earwig colony. It was amazing. The earwigs could cut the ants in half with their pincers, but they were greatly outnumbered. There were around three ants attacking each earwig. While all the earwigs were distracted more ants went into their home, and took all their babies as food, carrying them away into their own colony. After lots of earwigs died, the line broke and the surviving earwigs fled the area, abandoning their home and colony.

One may notice that defenders are generally positioned on the right of each shot, while attackers are shown on the left. Genius Camerawork at play. Also, I can't help but be fascinated by the way the defenders shooting acid place themselves in groups in elevated positions, like artillery batteries. Either that's some random event, or there's relatively sophisticated battle coordination going on here. I rather fancy the latter.
