Aside from separate army ant swarms ignoring each other, there are a few ant species with dynamics that go beyond enemies. One particularly chilling example is a species of ant that practices the enslavement of other species.

It's so interesting how an animal like the ant is individually entirely unimpressive. Both in terms of physical capabilities and intelligence they are not special or are even inferior to so many other animals.
But then as a group they stand out so much in that they are the closest to humans in terms of organization. Offensive and defensive war tactics, agriculture, building large structures to live in, etc.
Despite being so far away from us biologically, they are the only animals that share those things with us.
Close relatives like Bees are similar of course.
