Up to 300 wind turbines to be constructed on NSW southern coastline

The federal government have given the green light to a massive offshore wind farm stretching along the southern New south Wales coastline.

The proposed area covers more than 1,400 kilometres and extends offshore of Wombarra in the north to Kiama in the south.

It will involve the construction of 300 industrial wind turbines.

Environmental activists who are against the farm say it is in the migration path of up to 40,000 whales.

Wind turbines must spin continuously for four years just to replace the energy used to manufacture them (before they even start generating net usable energy). Most turbine blades last 3 – 7 yrs. They use approx 270 litres of oil to lubricate, and they leak. If the turbine runs out of oil, they catch fire. In some instances diesel generators need to be used to spin them when the wind is insufficient. The blades are made of toxic fibreglass and are buried in landfill.

This has got to stop NOW before they do anymore damage than they’ve already done. This blokes on the biggest power trip

More micro plastic for the ocean, noise and concrete, all not recyclable.

Then after 15 years of steadily depleting output, and the annual consumption of a thousand gallons of oil a year each, they become landfill.

Lets do the math.
A micro N plant @ 380million watts fits on 3970sqm of land(2xOK650 PWR's+plumbing+HPsteam turbine genies) specific output @ 96, 000watts per sq metre.
Solar farm for 380million watts (needs backup after dark by batteries that are net energy consumers anyway plus wind turbines, pray to the gods there is a breeze at night time), total coverage of greater than 2.1million sq metres, specific output @ 174watts per sq metre(commercial grade) less the power/energy lost due to Electrical Series Resistance built in to every metre of cabling infrastructure needed to connect it all, keeping it all free from dust and damage, high maintenance and partial outages etc and then the waste product where every solar panel degrades and requires replacement at least once before you need to refuel a Nuclear furnace once.
Gees, novelty power generation stacks up eh

That's what happens when you're the safest Labor area in Australia. Enjoy the view Wollongong.
