The Sony has a rubber coating while the JBL has aluminum. It's logical that the coin bounces more with JBL That says nothing about the quality of the bass

I’m 53 years old now and I can say that I’ve never owned a Sony product that I didn’t love. Sony is a testament to quality. I remember when we Americans complained about everything being made in Japan and I wish I could go back to those days because the utter junk China has flooded the US with is really heart breaking.

More bass doesn't equal better quality. Ask any audiophile, over inflated bass sounds worse than not enough bass. Most people just don't have enough experience with music to know that too much bass distorts/mutes mid bass, mids, and distorts highs and clarity.

And JBL Boombox 4 will have swappble batteries.

Small JBL speakers are bad, but the big ones are amazing.
