The veil almost looks like it could fit above the traveler. As if the "roots" of the veil are meant to wrap around the traveler so it can grow.

my thoughts are that traveler and veil are linked through paracausality. not physically a pair. not two halves of a whole. their playground is the space between spaces, where we draw our powers from as void guardians.
the traveler is a terrafoming machine. it creates. it reshapes. it inspires.
the veil is a repository of knowledge. it's capable to percieve and store what's happening in the universe. it's method is the egrigore. (it's roots looks like egrigore)
both are tools, either to work independently or being controlled by the forces that creates universes. hard to tell what.
the traveler is manifestation of the light as it always creates new beginnings. the veil is a manifestation of the darkness as it remembers the past.

The Veil doesn’t even make sense as part of a pair with the Traveler on a design level. One half is clearly a tree of silver wings and the other this solid, black half-sphere with an ephemeral glow on its sides. To me this would point to the Veil being a sort of medium between both forces, not the Darkness equivalent of the Traveler.
