Gem Gardener: Very Fine Art Deco Lavender Jadeite Bead Necklace 18k

Fine big bead necklace set with lavender and white jadeite jade, and accented with diamonds and sapphires in 18k and 22k.

The lavender jade has a strong purple hue, uniform and saturated in the rich purple of its exemplary genre.

The necklace is inspired by Barbara Hutton’s green jade necklace, and we have wanted to create a dreamy jade bead necklace ever since.

We waited a long time before we could get these beads, since lavender jadeite is not readily available in high quality, or high jewelry.

The necklace is 22″, a legit length to wear these 11mm beads artistically, composed with a side accent (icy white jade + sapphire) and matching clasp (lavender jade cabochon + diamond).

The wearer will have fun with this necklace, since the accent and clasp can be styled however you wish, facing sideways, or both to the front.

The sophisticated mind will sense the best thing about this necklace is its bewitching color way, not unlike its Cartier ‘predecessor’ (green jade + ruby).

While green jade is warmer with yellow gold, lavender jade is cooler with white gold.

The necklace is hefty in weight, as the jadeite beads are large, and the accent and clasp are built solidly and backed by yellow gold as de rigueur craftsmanship in signing off an heirloom jewel.

All the sophisticated craftsmanship that went into this well-intentioned jewel is visible to the eye, and to the mind must be more.

Wearing beads of this size and length could be challenging, if its statement and surreal beauty are not immediate.

Since the necklace is made for an ‘individual’, please let us know if you prefer it somewhat longer.

The GIA report is for the single jade cabochon caught in the clasp – imagine we’d only wanted to make one ring!

For an idea of sizing, the accent is the size of a dinner ring (20mm by 18mm), and the clasp is the size of a halo ring (15mm around).

Diamonds weigh 1.02ctw; sapphires weigh 3.66ctw.
