I watched one of your essential knot videos a few days ago while deciding how to go about a project. The knots were complex and you're a great teacher. Today a search on clove hitch resulted in 2 or 3 video tutorials, not so clear. I determined to find a lesson from you. One and done. Thanks

The stop knot is a great idea - one of those "why didn't I think of that?" things. When pulling hard on the free end of the line to tighten down a clove hitch, I often worry I'm going to just pop the whole thing off. The stop knot will prevent that.

I always go up the middle of the X as well. I have seen a lot of others do the clove hitch only going through the upper left leg of the X if that makes sense.
