You guys are awesome!! Loved this video. Same experience. I'm from the northeast (yes I'm jealous of the northwest). I hiked in several miles with some friends into the Catskills and a bunch of ass clowns showed up a couple of hours later with speakers and coolers full of beers. They proceeded to have a rave 20 yds away until 2 or 3 in the morning. We tried tried to be AS Quiet AS Possible!! in the morning while we made breakfast and broke down our camp. In terms of being prepared, I was in the Canadian outback doing geologic fieldwork and ignored my own policy of working alone. I fell 5 feet through some dead-fall and tore up my ankle. I had a PLB, but after assessing my injury I decided to sit tight and wait 3 days for my float plane pick-up because I had water, shelter and food. I paid in advance for my drop off and pickup with the float plane. I'll be back in 7 days to get you. If you're not alive, that's on you. I think we need more of that in the lower 48. Just saying.

No problems here, , with the underwear ( going commando) makes it easy, , , I go by the “ k i s s “ method, , keeping it simple, , and being retired 32 years army, sort of got the camping thing set.. you lady’s have a great day 😊😊😎

The speaker on the trail. Very rare in my parts, but I have heard of it. That has to be the biggest d bag move ever.... Besides pitching your tent in front of water access. That's insane!
The biggest peeve I've got, and it happens a lot, is when you been hiking all day and you show up to a site, and there are people there, and they act like you're intruding. It's very rude. I've even seen people trying to tell other people that there was no room for them to camp (which wasn't true) and the next site was like 5 mi away.

-Dog poop in bags on trails
-Loud conversations on trails
-Returning to a full parking lot and parking fiends telling you to hurry up and leave
-Photo hogs (mostly "ig models") who take 1000 photos in front of a landmark
-Trash trash trash
-Graffiti
-Going to a busy trail and having to say good morning 100+ times lol

Great idea for a video! Agree with all these. Another one: trail hogs, people who walk side-by-side and take up the whole width of the trail, even when they see oncoming hikers.

I’ve had it with off leash dogs. People have no idea what their dogs are capable of. I had 14 stitches from a “friendly” black lab who “never did that before “. Keep your mutt under control.

I'm late watching this video (so much of which I agree with!), but I still want to add: I've had it with outdoor gear companies, who should be stewards of the environment, using PFAS in their gear when there are healthier effective options like Nikwax!

Basically people are the pet peeves of hiking. I agree, getting away from people is one of the reasons to go backpacking.

I think you both are spot on with these issues and I totally agree with you about them. I've had it with people ruining it for other people by leaving trash behind or getting injured for being stupid. Like blue pool I heard in the news it might be getting closed cause of people and yes I have a moron that walks up and down my street blaring crap music from his backpack almost daily it's so dam annoying. Great video loved it :)

Fun video and some great peeves. Not only do I hate the mosquitos, but the fact that the bites have to itch for 5 days after the hike... Kills me. I'm typically a day hiker, but the hogs would drive me nuts. And the music on the trail should be illegal. Wear earbuds... My wife actually called out a group during our na pali coast hike in Hawaii for this.

Also, thanks for the info and hikes on Three Finger Jack. I finally went last weekend and got some great shots of the goats.

I'll add one of mine (and it's a fairly mild one compared to the rest) but I personally don't love when there's horse shit all over the trails. YES, I do understand that many trails are open to horses, and that riders often do important trail maintenance, and that horse poo is "cleaner" or more biodegradable and less yucky than dog poo. I get all that. Still don't like it that they can just leave it all over the middle of the trail, and I'm kind of done with it.

I can squeeze about 350 miles out of my Hokas, but I agree on the trail running shoe expense!

Ok first and foremost, I've had it with WILDFIRES! Hiking season in the mountains now starts with mosquitoes and ends with smoke, if not closures, with very little, if any, time in between.

Along the lines of campers setting up late is people not keeping their head lamps pointed down. I've seen this more at car camping campgrounds, but people wander around after dark with their lamps on and have no awareness (or they just don't give a shit) that they're shining them right into other campsites. It's so rude!

Toilet paper above ground. Pack it out, use a bidet or bury it. Also, trail runner groups themselves coming thru in hordes.

I've had it with, when you are using a shared path and cyclists zoom past from behind but don't let you know they are approaching. It scares the shit out of me every time.
Lol at kink shaming the hoes.

Fun video. 1.Never wear underwear hiking / backpacking. They are more of a pain than add to the trek.
2. Sick of hikers letting their pups run free.
3. Sick of ppl leaving tp behind. Leave No Trace includes your tp.

I do mostly beach walks here near Newport Oregon, Dogs are my Bane,
if its not the poo its the possibility of being attacked and the situation going critical.

I agree with all of these but especially dogs. Those little blue bags all over are just litter. And as for off the leash dogs; oh crap. A few years ago while in Deschutes National Forest I had 3 different dogs circling me and my friends growling, showing teeth and snapping. The first dogs master called and the dog went away never to be seen again. The owner of the second dog just watched it threatening us. I told him to leash the dog or I would bear spray it. He called me an asshole. I said do it or I will spray. He offered to kick my butt and I offered to spray him. Great example for his 10 year old son.

Love love the spiciness! You hit a lot of mine. I’d add not knowing trail etiquette. Not knowing right of way on a narrow trail, especially trail bikers who practically knock you over. And snow shoe-ers who barrel through cross country ski tracks. Oy!
