DO NOT RUN THIS AFTER AN OIL CHANGE! Do this 300 miles before your next oil change. It's not meant to run through your engine as a lubricant. It's meant to clean it. After the 300 miles, change your oil and DO NOT ADD SEAFOAM!

Use good quality oil, change it on time and it will have more than enough detergents and additives to keep your engine clean

Never add too much seafoam in the oil. And do not do so routinely.

Its been done before. The seafoam nearly all evaporates at start up. It contaminates the oil and causes the oil to froth up and can cause wear if ran for extended time. **Only add seafoam in oil before an oil change** I add it, drive to put gas in the truck, drive home and then change the oil. Thats how to do it. It will restore not-far-gone lifters and such. Works great in the oil if done right. And is only ever needed if its a neglected motor, noisy motor or never done before.

I've used it in my gas for years and love it. About 4 years ago, I put some in my oil, drove my truck about 400 miles then changed my oil and filter. Problem is, I now have a rear main seal leak. I wish that I never did it.

As a powertrain engineer for 1 of the big 3 for the last 26 years I would not recommend adding anything to the oil in your engine.

Sea foam is great I substitute it for milk in my corn flakes…I have never run better !

Snake oil for modern engines using modern oil. Seafoam can damage electronic, plastics, seals, etc. If you want to clean your engine, just change your oil more often. Modern oil has detergents that clean deposits away.

I don't recommend ANY additives in a well maintained engine! In gas ..yes. Engineering pt of view here. My '22 F150 Tremor 4wd (oil) w/gen2 3.5L GTDI V6 drains quite clean @5k mis. All bout consistency w/basic maintenance! *Pennzoil Platinum/Ultra Platinum 5w30 & Motorcraft filters* . Top Tier rated fuel used only - midgrade 89. 💯

Sea foam in the crankcase evaporates as soon as the engine reaches operating temp. The vapors are drawn out through the pcv system. All the sea foam is vaporized in about 10 minutes of driving. It doesn't stay in the oil and it doesn't cause the oil to darken. Its literally vapoeized and consumed through the pcv in 10 minutes.

Seafoam is designed to REMOVE build up from your parts. The fact the oil is clean means no build up was removed. Either the video is fake (most likely scenario), engine was stripped and cleaned before, or the product doesn't work as advertised.

On my trucks and cars and everything else the cap says oil so I put oil in there.

Seafoam is a good product, it can legitimately clean your fuel system. You CAN put it in oil just like he demonstrated. If you have buildup, your oil will come out BLACK after a few hundred miles. I have done this on several motorcycles.

What he didn’t mention is that you should put seafoam in your engine oil 100-300 miles BEFORE you plan to do an oil change (~ about 2 weeks before you do the oil change).

Also, don’t use seafoam on old/worn out engines. If large chunks of gunk are cleaned out it can clog fuel systems or remove ‘seals’ created by the gunk. My bike was sitting for 4 years and running lean. Seafoam cleared out the fuel rails and clogged my injectors. I had to remove the injectors and manually cleaned out the gunk. Bike ran like new afterwards.

It just thins down the oil. Provides more cleaning solvents and removes sludge if any. Changing the oil regularly with motor flush before draining works very well too. Motor flush is only 3.99
Seaform is 7.99
4.00 more for same results.
Which is jusified?

Back in the 60s, we would put ½ qt of trans fluid in the oil to clean up things before an oil change.

Used this on my 2005 tacoma and within a couple treatments I began experiencing piston blowby due to it washing away the carbon build up in my cylinder walls. If your vehicles old and hasn't been maintained my previous owners, it's possible you run into the same problem. Had to replace my engine (fixing it would've been around same cost)

Remember that carbon and other deposits, might being the only thing hung helping you maintain compression, on old engines.😅

If you want to remove sludge build-up from an engine, just change the oil at more frequent intervals. There are already detergents in almost all engine oils. Adding any solvent to any crankcase is asking for trouble.
It's also a good idea to check and clean the pcv system including any breathers and/or catch can.

I usually just pull the engine apart and hot-tank it when I want to clean it. I usually do this every other oil change.
