I’m so overwhelmed 😂 I’ve been stuck on the character selection screen for about an hour cycling thru stuff and looking up classes online and on YouTube

My opinion, the 3 best classes in BG3 are Bard, Paladin and Sorcerer.

Sorcerers are OP from the start and straight up broken by level 5. Twin Spell (metamagic) at level 2 lets you have a single target spell (e.g. Chromatic Orb) hit two enemies. Quicken Spell (metamagic) at level 3 turns any spell into a bonus action, so now you can have up to two casts per round. At level 5 you get access to haste, which gives you an extra cast per round - so now you can have up to 3 casts per round. Combine this with the Elemental Adept feat (fire) and you can potentially cast 3 fireballs that bypass any fire resist in a single round. Even crazier if you have 2 sorcerers in your party (if you play a sorc and get a sorc hireling).

Honestly I want to give Monk the benefit of the doubt. But currently Paladin, Warlock, and Bard have to be my top picks. I'm a sucker for charisma and Tav being the party face feels like the best option storywise for a party face imo

started playing as a jump fighter and honestly it changed the game for me. combat was not enjoyable before, it took too long to get into position. but with the jumping "dragoon" fighter, i can get in there right away and land some nasty debuffs on multiple targets. also great for chasing down archers and mages. no one is safe from lae'zel's half court slam dunks.

gets better when you can fly, too. a flying fighter can be a real menace.

Don´t forget you can build the Warlock to be a REALLY mean presence in melee - Pact of the blade.
Mine is sporting heavy armor, shield and whatever good weapon i find.

Great description, I made a part of two clerics, barbarian and warlock. I thought about restarting because having a cleric main is kind of slow, but now that I am starting to get some levels and stronger damage spells on my cleric, keeping the other as main healer, it can be very nice to have spillover healing for those unfortunately large pulls.

Bard is the most versatile. My 3 best classes would be Paladin, Cleric and Bard.

Ooh I've played plenty classes and must agree that barbarian and warlock are great fun for all sorts of reasons. I have to say also, I love the monk! They've super cool with their bare handed beatings they kindly offer our enemies! 😂

If you play with a human war dominion cleric you can use pretty much all weapons and you also can add sleight of hand to your skills. Bump up your charisma, dexterity and wisdom, so you get a pretty good toolset in and out of combat, just on your own and you don't have to go rogue, or rely on Astarion for picking locks and untrapping. I don't know why but I find him really irritating. Just pick Tempus as your deity. He is pretty neutral and will not screw you up. Get a good weapons/armor really early and you can waltz through most of the first act.

I like the Fact that you Lowkey flex with your Playtime in the Title, but with only 500 hours you would be considered a Noob in many other games.

I dunno dude. Barbarian was way too simple, although playing with improvised weapon might be fun, I wasn't too tempted to try it with Karlach. In the end barbarian is kind of like a fighter. Warlock is kind of fun, but overall you basically repeat eldritch blast thousands of times.

Now rogue, I think you have a point there because a rogue is deceptively strong. I realized this when I played against the surgeon. My whole team died, except Astarion. In the end Astarion soloed the surgeon and at least 3 nurses with a hit and run tactic. However, this is still situational: if you don't have enough room to maneuver, you will not be able to do this.

From the classes you can play just because of your allies, I think Druid comes out a pretty clear winner in all aspects. Second for me is the wizard, you can really blast enemies to oblivion. Sorcerer would probably be fun, but probably not much different than a wizard mixed with warlock. Playing Orpheus gave me a bad intro to Monk to be honest.

Probably the only class still worth trying is the Bard. I played Vengeance Paladin first time (tried Fighter and Ranger in early access), which was extremely rewarding both as roleplay (you feel like you have a mission, and your class requires you to play a certain way) and strength. I have a feeling a Bard would not have the same slap, so maybe I would have to figure out a more negotiating character, or more unorthodox gameplay. With Vengeance, I could just roll up anywhere, and even though my Charisma was high, I could just go slap city without even considering opening a dialog window.

I'm glad some people are giving barbarians the credit they deserve. I mean berserker is the best overall frontliner at the game. You gain 3rd attack at lvl 5 for gods sake while having all the bonuses barb gets, like unmatched advantage on demand every turn of every combat ( every other way of getting advantage uses resources or unreliable or both) or taking half phys damage, or the free 3m speed. You can even dual class with thief3 to gain extra bonus action to gain 4th attack per turn. Like wtf man, now i know why berserker is so nerfed in TT.

I would go for Paladin and Bard just for the charisma since you will probably do most of the talking.
