I had Facebook for 1 month, then I got rid of it back in 2014. Haven't used Social media ever since. I really have no use for it, I also find it very intrusive. But I do use YouTube, but thats it.

you can delete your facebook account and still use messenger to keep in contact with people

The only reason I use YouTube is because it's like a well maintained record of all my comments. I think I should be paid for the ones that stir up a chat.

Wow, I learned something today. Glad I deleted Facebook.

I got off Facebook and snap chats simply because I got tired of watching people live. You watch people live or only what they want you to see (which is never the bad shit). So in any sense it’s all fake bullshit. And at the time I needed a better job so I cut it off and never went back. Now I workout, read, research shit that can enhance my life the good and bad

I always thought it was absolutely bizarre to give anyone on the internet that much information about you. Youtube is the only site that can collect information on me.

That guy makes so much sense. By the way I never joined any social media sites also. I don't care who's dating who or what party they're at.

Margaret Mead’s anthropological separation wasn’t so separate. She apparently did a little bit too much hands on research that wasn’t so removed from the subjects.

Willingly putting your info online for others to see us very odd to me.
There's a stranger out there that knows your full name, how you look, what city you live in, your friends & family members.
And all they had to do was search your name on Google. It's crazy to me how people are willing to give up this info about themselves.

Ive never used these social media websites because Im a private person, and not at all nosey or interested in gossip. My friends and family know me and thats enough. But if i wanted to start a business or networking venture, of course Id use social media then.

Before Facebook there was Myspace,
Before MySpace there was the BBS and message boards all over the Internet. My nerdy brother was a SYSOP in the 80’s and tied up our only phone line for hours every night.
My teenage social life suffered greatly due to the early years of social media.
Social media started way before Facebook...this guy is a professor?

I think I spend like a minute at most on Facebook and Twitter a day.

prior to Facebook there was Friendster and MySpace, and years before them were the "forums".
Youtube is also a form of social media - there are good and bad: it's how you use it.

Social media is like spoon/forks - you don't blame spoon/forks because you're fat.

Is youtube not social media. It's never is the icons when commentators say "social media." It's the only platform that has successfully got my attention for more than 30 mins on a regular basis. Facebook can get it for 5 mins at most, at 1-3 times logging on a week. Youtube (google) knows alot more about me than facebook. I dunno I find it quite funny when reading the comment section how everyone is shreading facebook, saying how they'll never give them there info, when we're all on here giving youtube our info.
