I think the best scene (they we’re all good) is episode three, with the therapist interview. The acting in that scene was incredible. I mean, I’ve watched decades of movies and television, and I can’t think of a better one, especially for the young boy. I was scared and shocked. well done.

@4:22 Charlie, I don’t know if you have children (over 12 years). I guess not. When you walk into your childs room (after a long time) you see the world of your child you completely missed. I think many parents (fathers) will recognize this feeling. *That* is what makes this scene so strong.

Also worth adding, the other boys who had prominent scenes in the series (Jamie's friend Ryan, Det. Bascombe's son Adam, etc) were all considered for the lead role of Jamie. After Owen was cast, they decided to use the other boys in supporting roles. The series was incredible viewing.

I love the long scenes. When we are experiencing the long drives, the character interactions in the car. Just long uncomfortable moments we witnessed in the series. I enjoyed that and respected the directors' different take on camera work and cinema ❤

Hi! In curiosity 9, I made a mistake.
The song that Katie sings is not the one at the end of the series.
Katie sings the song that plays at the end of episode 2, in the part where Jamie's dad leaves flowers. It was my mistake. My deepest apologies.

This is a great, informative video. Usually these type of videos are just click bait but you did an amazing job!

As a family of three teachers who have unfortunately seen things happen we can say that this series was FANTASTIC. From beginning to end it was so well done. Any child can turn.. it’s sad but true. This series should be watched by everyone.

I would dearly like for my gratitude to be shared with the Adolescence team if possible.

I thank Netflix for assembling the group of people to create such a wonderfully powerful and relevant mini series which I can't stop thinking about.

I don't know whether this is the right place to post this or not but I found myself relating more and more to Jamie as the story developed.
As a boy, I was quite bright and didn’t cause trouble but had a temper. I had quite low self esteem (I wore leg irons and spectacles and was not good at sport, so I thought.) At the age of 13 I was bullied for a time by three girls, culminating in a confrontation on the stairs on the way to lunch.

I totally lost it, lashing out and hitting Mary, one of the girls, hard. I don't know what would have happened if the geography teacher, Mr. Ashworth, had not been on hand to break things up. The memory is hazy but I know Mary needed treatment. Mr. Ashworth took me into the geography room and talked to me. I don’t recall his exact words but he was quiet and gentle and his theme was about not hitting girls. I clearly remember sniffling through tears saying, "I didn't mean it - it wasn't me." (Two obviously contradictory statements.)

I grew up more and more able to control myself but right up to the present I have occasionally 'lost it' (never as badly and never resorting to violence again). It always felt like I was somebody else as, I think, Jamie does. It was not the real me.

I had not thought about this incident for 64 years until I watched Adolescence, when that memory, and others, came flooding back.
Social media was not quite so pervasive in 1961 and for that I am grateful: if I had been able to brood, alone in my room …

Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham thank you for the writing.

Owen Cooper, thank you for a remarkable portrayal and good wishes for the future.

I think the girls voice is used in the second episode when she’s the last voice on the choir at the end when the dad goes to put flowers down where she died

I wish to have worked on set just to experience behind the scenes. This series is so amazingly done on so many levels! Hats off.

The cast was amazing, strong acting as always from Stephen Graham but Owen was fantastic, I felt sure that he was probably more likely to be a young looking 15 year old, when filming but he wasn't. When arrested Jamie was so vulnerable, you really wanted things to work out for him but Owen in the end made you feel whoah! he has problems. A great show.

Owen Cooper is a true talent. He’s going places for sure. The complex emotions he was able to portray along with the fact that each episode was filmed in a single shot… that kid had got skill
