The fact that's HE TOLD his wife in confidence that it WAS going to explode is bone chilling (rip to all the lost astronauts)

The warning ⚠️ about the Challanger o ring is one of the most frustrating facts. Money once again was the deciding factor.

how do you just ignore multiple NASA engineers' warnings to call off the launch? anybody with a warning against launching should be taken as deadly serious when that level of education, expertise and experience is behind that warning

The Challenger blew up on my birthday. For whatever reason, EVERY time my birthday would be mentioned around my mom, she was ALWAYS compelled to say, "You know the Challenger blew up on her birthday, " as if that fact had ANYTHING to do with me. Of course, I feel horrible for those brave astronauts & their loved ones. It just annoys me that she does that.

The Kessler Syndrome is kind of what the movie "Gravity" was based on.

I remember when we were in school and watched all of it as it happened. As children we were devastated.

The Challenger crew survived the explosion. Their capsule remained in tact, and they were alive until it hit the water. Imagine the terror.

You should do a video of the people who look just like those astronauts

❤thank you for this. As a 3rd grader, I was forced to watch the live launch, and I knew it would be explosion. Didn't want to watch. Knew there were people who knew!😊

I remember that day. I was at school waiting the live transmission. It was tragic.

I was in school, 5th grade, when we got the news about the Challenger.

That behavior is not weird of NASA, they told off Argentinian mathematician Lazaro Recht when he corrected them in their calculations... After they commited the mistake he predicted they offered him a job but he denied the offer saying he doesn't work with mediocre people.

The challenger astronauts are alive still. Same names ages and professions

*nasa has a lot of convenient accidents, like the Apollo1 being flooded with pure o2 and doors not opening*

Challenger was 1986 over the ocean in Florida, Columbia was in 2003.
The causation for both disasters was similar.

Challenger exploded in 1986, not 2003.

The Challenger disaster happened on my b-day. My sister and I had stayed home from school to watch and celebrate. 😢

I remember this story but I heard it was legit like one little bolt or something so small but he said it would effect the shuttle and not to launch, but they did not listen. You’d think they would trust a NASA engineer working on the dam shuttle saying no. That is so sad those lives could have been saved. Those astronauts entrusted them with their lives and rather than admit they were not ready they took the risk.
