Vertigo is a condition where a person has the sensation of moving or of surrounding objects moving when they are not.[1] Often it feels like a spinning or swaying movement.[1][2] This may be associated with nausea, vomiting, sweating, or difficulties walking.[2] It is typically worse when the head is moved.[2] Vertigo is the most common type of dizziness.[2]

The most common disorders that result in vertigo are benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), Ménière's disease, and labyrinthitis.[1][2] Less common causes include stroke, brain tumors, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, migraines, trauma, and uneven pressures between the middle ears.[2][4][5] Physiologic vertigo may occur following being exposed to motion for a prolonged period such as when on a ship or simply following spinning with the eyes closed.[6][7] Other causes may include toxin exposures such as to carbon monoxide, alcohol, or aspirin.[8] Vertigo typically indicates a problem in a part of the vestibular system.[2] Other causes of dizziness include presyncope, disequilibrium, and non-specific dizziness.[2]

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is more likely in someone who gets repeated episodes of vertigo with movement and is otherwise normal between these episodes.[9] The episodes of vertigo should last less than one minute.[2] The Dix-Hallpike test typically produces a period of rapid eye movements known as nystagmus in this condition.[1] In Ménière's disease there is often ringing in the ears, hearing loss, and the attacks of vertigo last more than twenty minutes.[9] In labyrinthitis the onset of vertigo is sudden and the nystagmus occurs without movement.[9] In this condition vertigo can last for days.[2] More severe causes should also be considered.[9] This is especially true if other problems such as weakness, headache, double vision, or numbness occur.[2]

Dizziness affects approximately 20–40% of people at some point in time, while about 7.5–10% have vertigo.[3] About 5% have vertigo in a given year.[10] It becomes more common with age and affects women two to three times more often than men.[10] Vertigo accounts for about 2–3% of emergency department visits in the developed world.[10]

it can be caused by low blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and dysfunction... the main cause is a weakening of the nervous system and blood circulatory system...Therefore, it is a serious matter to ignore dizziness. It's also a better idea to meet a Doctor without delay...

I had slight vertigo before I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma stage 1. After all heavy chemo and a barrage of medication with chemo pills it's become worse, but thank God I'm in remission. Now I need to work on it.

I’ve had vertigo for almost ten years. Ill feel it all day everyday during the winter, and summer it can but me down for a week and then it’s ‘“manageable.” I’ve spent my life savings visiting every doctor imaginable tell me “there’s nothing wrong with me” and have been to the emergency room probably 100 plus times in which all they do is give me klonopin and a vallium prescription to make me go away cause they don’t care which… yes… gets rid of it but knocks me out the rest of the day. Basically if it’s not the bppv type, then they have no idea how to fix it. I’ve felt everything to being broke from doctors visits, to anxious to suicidal. In fact there was one point it was so bad I was taking Valiums to keep myself asleep and sleeping for weeks at a time. It’s the most awful debilitating illness. I’m only 32 years old but don’t know how much longer I can endure it.

Hi I'm Krishan Pal. I've been suffering from vertigo since 2017. It all started when I started gym on my own at the home without using proper equipments and guidance. I regret of every moment of my life why did I start working out at home own my own. I used to lift heavy weight about 70kg bench press, 110kg squats and 110kg deadlift. Even my mom tried to stop but I was advertently killing myself. Watching all these hunk guys video's Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronnie Coleman, Jay cutler, Kevin Levrone so on bodybuilders i motivated and satisate myself. I was heading in the wrong direction all along but who doesn't want to look like these guys. Everyone praise their's bodies and I was one of them. I wanted to look like them that's the reason I started working out. I pushed hard to attain the body that i desired to. I started taking multivitamin shit Becadexamin, supradin. For a while i thought it would going to make my body like bodybuilders. I couldn't afford protein supplements so I dropped the Idea of purchasing it. I started eating rice just like bodybuilders eat as I was a vegetarian i couldn't eat chicken, fish. I also taken speed height capsules because I was ashamed of my height.

Just had it 2 days ago. I couldn't stop the spinning in my head whenever I tried to move. Things are shaking in front of my eyes and I felt lightheaded. Then it went away after I had enough sleep until today when I made the mistake of drinking a cup of coffee. It returns now and I feel terrible

Has anyone experienced this before? I hope to feel better soon but it looks like it's taking its sweet time as I feel my body has been very slowly trying to get rid of it 😪
