One of the major problems with NATO at the moment is the other countries not pulling their defense budget weight, abusing the massive American defense budget so that they can put their money into their own social services...and that needs to change. They only need 2 friggin percent. With the social services problems in the US with the massive migrant crisis, illegal immigration, mental health, veterans care, inflation and massive wealth loss for the lower middle class/working class/regular people, child poverty, and homelessness in the US, maybe the threat to leave will be the kick in the ass that many of the NATO countries need to step up according to the NATO contract that they themselves signed. Out of 30 member states, only 7 hit their 2 percent quota in 2022...that is 23 NATO members not contributing their share, and putting the burden on the American taxpayers, resources that could go to our own needed social services. It has been that way for a long time, and that needs to change.

Our allies are economically powerful, because they do not have to spend much on their militaries thanks to the protection from us. But as a result, our resources are strained and the middle class is struggling. Our allies need to spend more on their militaries! Trump said that many years ago!

I am more nervous about Europe being so passive and not ramping up military spending in every single country of EU and NATO and give Ukraine anything and everything. With many top positions being taken by foreign powers inside of Europe in ministries and the UK thinking that Brexit would solve anything, and with Germany's power only a remnant of its shadow, Ukraine (and Poland) is the only one daring to see the problems of this world.
