How much did our 7-bed Victorian villa cost?

We've been meaning to make a video like this for a while. Sorry it has taken so long to get round to it! It has been by far our most asked question so we hope you enjoy and find it informative.

Discussing money isn't very British so we found this quite awkward haha, but I hope it doesn't come across that way. We are sharing this purely for transparency. Also, whilst this is our honest account of how we got here, we both think it's important to acknowledge that we have benefitted from a huge amount of luck, good timing and good advice. We are immensely privileged to be surrounded by supportive and encouraging family and friends and you really can't underestimate how much of a leg up that kind of thing is!

The older content from your previous projects would definitely be fun to see!

I’m a 58 y/o disabled veteran who discovered your channel today. When I was your age I wanted to do what you two are doing. The woman I was married to at the time said “absolutely not.”
Long story short, I am now watching the two of you living a dream I had and you are doing it perfectly. You have a fan for life. ❤

I would love to see your previous homes! I’m so glad you are able to restore this beautiful historic home!

A piece of advice from someone who’s done this type of work is to wear eye protection and respirators! Lead dust and mold (that are invisible) from old homes can really affect your health years down the road. Be safe and have fun!

Social media has definitely been an asset in these sort of vlogs. Your age has definitely brought people’s attention to the renovation. No one looks at the hard work and real time jobs people have to do to get where others are today. Your portfolio and previous experience has seemed to help you with home. Your vlogs and pleasant nature are worth watching. Thank you

Congratulations to you both. Easy to jump to conclusions about you having generational wealth behind this Reno. You’re financially savvy, determined, hardworking and inspirational. Good luck to you both - the house is looking incredible and lucky to have you as its future custodians 🙂

I really admire that you are so sensible at such a young age, proving that if you apply yourself to your goals and work hard; you can accomplish anything you set out to do. Love what you are doing to this house and how smart you both are about doing the job. There is a lot to admire here and I love that you are sharing it on YouTube and that I get to see it.

Such a blessing to see such a grounded yet daring couple. Watching a couple work so hard balanced with design creativity is fun and pushes my ideas for my home. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see more!

Yes, we’d enjoy seeing previous homes - but keep the renovation coverage coming.😊

Two incomes, two strong backs, education and sources of construction advise, and strong motivation, all come together for success here. Few could have accomplished this feat.

Bravo. I’m 37 and in my 4th house. I’ve always bought houses that need work and lived in them while upgrading them. Didn’t have a working toilet in the current house for little over a month. Worth it though. This house has been flipped and the value has gone up. But I’ve always upgraded to better neighborhoods. It’s exhausting but worth it. And rewarding to do the work yourself. No mortgage on my last 3 houses. Used the profit and savings and have been very frugal with diy.

Young folks like the two of you give me hope for the future, mature way beyond your years you should both be very proud of yourselves. Would love to see the previous builds. Thanks for sharing.

You Milly, have encouraged me to learn how to use power tools instead of asking my husband to do something for me. So thanks for that. Watching from Michigan in USA. You two are doing a great job and I also think its cute when you sing together.

Obviously a very smart young couple who understands real estate is an asset and one can make big bucks buying and remodeling and selling. Bravo! Love your hard work!

I am watching this video in mid January 2025 and have seen what you have accomplished to this date, I think you are easily going to at least quadruple your buying price when complete.
It is obvious you have spent a small fortune on the renovation so far, you've had to, it's going to be a fabulous investment, you have improved immensely every aspect of the house and thankfully you rescued it from being a potential HMO to the family home it was originally built to be.
Congratulations.

I think it's GREAT that two young people without kids are putting in the sacrifice and hard work to do something they seem to love and something so worthwhile! I live in the US and follow a channel of an older couple that have been doing restoration flips on old villas in Spain. The older homes and architecture in the US is so stark compared to Europe. And your garden! 😍 It's so rare here to find gardens and stone work like you have here. I mean REALLY rare. Restoring these homes 🏡 is also a service to the world! I've watched so many older homes here get bulldozed. 😖 Thank you for taking the time to share your journey 🙏

Just found your channel and am really enjoying seeing you do up this house. It brings back memories, as back in the 80's, my parents bought an old Victorian house in the Cotswolds where i grew up. I spent so much time helping Dad out while he did the place up, we were told there was a basement that was boarded up, but never did find the door as the room it was supposed to be in was recently decorated so Dad didn't want to strip those walls back, what a shame!! We did find plenty of other things around the house, including a load of old pins under the floorboards of the biggest bedroom, we found out sisters who were seamstresses lived there in the 1800's. Outside while dad was digging to put a patio in, he found an old white sink buried and under it was a giant square slab of stone. It was so big and heavy we had to rig up a whole load of levers and get help from friends to heave it off, where underneath was a deep well. I look forward to seeing what else you find!

Thanks for this, really good of you to be transparent- so many people on social media aren't! As a 27 year old looking to buy a house as well it's great to get an idea. I'd be keen to see other houses you've done and learn more about your story, how you started on the property ladder and at what age etc.😊
