The sad news continues for this family from the 1800's. Macclenny, FL, USA has had residents as far back as the 1820's, and many headstones from the late 1800's are present in Woodlawn Cemetery. I called the director of the cemetery and asked permission to clean some headstones. I was granted permission and immediately gravitated towards this section which had the Rowes buried here. It was a pretty tragic family story that we started exploring last week and still have another video to come on them next week.

Q: What tools are you using?
A: Amazon affiliate links for what I used:

Q: What is the gravestone made of?
A: White marble.

Let me know your thoughts on this VERY different type of video.

Not sure what magic juice is but The American Cemetery Administration: "The NCA entered into an agreement with the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training, NPS, to evaluate marble cleaners in an effort to minimize damage to historic headstones. The 3-phase study began in 2004 and was completed in 2011. The best - practice recommendations resulted in NCA's determination to use the preferred cleaner, D/2 Biological Solution." It's the only one the Feds have tested and approved. Subsequently, they approved Wet iit and Forget it. After long term testing as well.

Nice going! A lot of people will like this video! (Except of course for the usual thumbs down brigade.)

Good lord, that's a lot of work for one headstone. Kudos to your for the effort. Makes me wonder if there is something you could mix up in a 4 gallon backpack sprayer and hit 30 - 40 headstones with repeatedly over the course of several weekends. Elbow grease is often the best method though.
