I absolutely adore this lady’s matter of fact delivery and data rich analysis. You have become my most trusted source of information vis-a-vis China.
Keep up the great work Lei!

Excellent content. Analysis was rich, well documented and easy to understand. An Italian thinker once said:. When something good is explained in few words is good twice, . good because is good. And good because is short.

Thank you again Lei fir your fantastic explanation. Everybody is saying the power outage is caused for lack of coal. No, it is the opposite way, your research is bright

Well I don’t know that I trust their numbers on their coal energy production. That could be totally manipulated. But I guess that’s one hypothesis.

Interesting analysis....if you’ve spotted this discrepancy, I wonder what the military analysts in the “west” are making of it....
Nice work. I always look forward to your videos.

Professor Lei ! You're hitting these topics out of the park !!! No one seems to be able to get to the bottom of the power problems in China, except you. Amazing analysis.

Wow thanks for showing some of those numbers… I really wonder if it’s a political issue, or like you mentioned a military energy diversion…

If not the best news source regarding China then you must be in the top two.

The cause and effect reason given by Lei is Aukus, but this is not the catalyst. Aukus was such a well kept secret that the Fench had no knowledge. And it takes months for such an enerfy shortage to manifest. This said, I still like your content Lei, keep it up but I will call you or anyone out when tberr are glaring inconsistencies

Fascinating analysis! Official figures may be untrustworthy, and coastal power plants would be more affected by the loss of the high-grade Australian coal (not sure if that just means a minor loss of capacity or difficulty running the plants at all), but I do think you’ve hit on the real cause of the shortages. I hope our military is similarly on the ball. (I expect they are, but you’re the first “civilian” person I’ve seen mention this :-)

(I just discovered your channel. Absolutely fantastic information and analysis, thank you for what you do!)

The energy shortage began before AUKUS was announced.

I think the theory that the coal is just too expensive is much more sane than the use of energy for nukes.
Thats why India also has problems with their coal supplies.

When I first saw her first video presented to me,
I thought "who is this silly little woman? And, what can she say that is so important?"
Well, after watching a few of her videos,
I find her not so silly, and not so little.
She is knowledgeable and wise.
She talks about big things, important things.
That makes her a giant, in my book.
Listen to her.
She clearly and concisely explains the complexity and contradictions of China.
She does it better than anyone I have come across.

When you showed the map the first thing I thought was China’s Central Bank digital currency. It was estimated in 2019 that Bit Coin used more electricity than Austria. And it keeps climbing. The outages appeared to be located in the financial centers. Could this be an impact. And China has been on a military build up for years with an eye on expansion.
