Carbon steel is usually bright metallic color, similar to stainless steel. Then after seasoning it changes into dark. This pan in the video is pre-seasoned.

Same way to quickly season a cast iron.
If you can, sand the cast iron as smooth as you can if it's a cheap lodge, first.

Same as cast iron. I use flaxseed oil to season my cast iron.

That's the thinnest walled carbon steel pan I've ever seen. It's thin like a wok. Must be made in China.
