If you are new to tile setting this video can help you pick the right tile trowel size. In my attempt to describe what size of trowel to use depending on your tile application I actually run through a lot of tile basics and terminology that are very useful when starting a tile project, like mortar vs. grout!

So if I am setting say 3x6 subway that has almost no grout line the 1/4 inch saw tooth  is going to be the best choice?

lollll you're funny you was scary (at 5:30 min of the video) to put tile on counter but (at 6:47 min of the video) you pull the bag of mortar by sliding on counter
