The nut might be more to blame for the tuning issue.

Gibson tuning issues mostly come down to how poorly designed the headstock is, the shorter scale length, and a poor quality nut. Cheap tuning heads can cause them as well, but grovers are very much above average in quality. The only fixes are possibly a new nut, or if the issue affects the 3rd string the worst, I've found that using a wound 3rd string helps

With a Les Paul you have to be smarter than the guitar to get them to stay in tune. There is always a sweet spot/happy place which is different on each one but with a bit of finesse they will stay in tune as much as any guitar.

Humbucker clean tones are incredible, you just have to use the knobs to get them. 50's wiring is the best as you can clean up and retain the highs when you roll off the volume knob, then clean up even more by rolling back the tone.

The gibson headstock design is the reason for it going out of tune. The strings have to stretch at an angle to reach the tuners, where as a fender the strings are only bending at the nut. They make a plastic piece that can go on the headstock to correct this problem. This problem is also prevelant on the epiphone brand les pauls too, but to a smaller degree

I *HIGHLY* suggest investing in a string butler to put on the headstock of the guitar as well as making sure to lubricate the nut, Les Pauls are notorious for going out of tune due to the break angle of the neck as well as the angle the strings go to the tuners due to the 3x3 open layout.

Put a string butler on it. One of many things you can do to improve tuning stability.

Hey, ive heard that the reason why pinch harmonics are hard on some guitars is because of low action

Fookin beautiful! I love the Les Paul tone. My unscientific hypothesis is that Les Pauls tend to go out of tune because the shorter scale length allows for easier string bending, so players bend the strings out of tune. But that's just a guess; my LP stays in tune just fine.

That is one of the nicest Les Paul’s I’ve seen. Beautiful.

I have a les paul and i also have a gretsch duo jet single cut i got on sale for $ 500 that i pickup swapped a deusenberg p90 neck and humbucker bridge, guess which one stays in tune? Lol and if you prefer the cleans on your tele id recommend a deusenberg twin domino p90 neck it will fit the humbucker hole. Noiseless P90 neck with humbucker bridge is my favorite combo right now.

The nut is probably the problem with tuning. The slots probably aren’t cut wide enough and pinch the strings, also it helps if the slots are cut in the direction that the string pulls towards the tuner.

Dude having low action and no fret buzz is like the meeting a guitar god.

Humbuckers imo have awful clean sound, but in your case you got the pull switches to somewhat counter it. I dont have pull switches on my ml so i use an acoustic simulator on very low settings to bring up a bit of twang but usually i can just pick up my strat instead

this comment may generate angry comments but the LTD 256 that I own has an incredible finish very similar and it’s just an amazing guitar to play feels great in the hands stays in tune doesn’t have a kill switch but has the push pull
