With an average age of 19, they faced relentless flak, freezing temperatures, and deadly enemy fighters. These "boys" carried the weight of impossible odds, enduring casualties that made their survival a rare miracle. This video delves into the staggering human cost paid by these young airmen, their bravery, and the devastating toll war took on an entire generation. #shorts #history #youtubeshorts @Historybehindtheblade

If you survived 25, you went home.

I read a book about this. It was humbling to consider.

They were great men and we owe them a lot. But never forget that your average 19-year-old will try almost anything on a dare. I was no different.

I went in the military at 18. It changes you. When I first read it 19 to 24 I’m thinking OMG but then I thought about myself and my friends who I serve with we didn’t seem young at the time.
