The fact that this video is still being compared to wars other than Syria’s TO THIS DAY, is heart wrenching and shows how humanity although it has infinite knowledge seems to never be able to grasp the concept of peace. This video is a testament to whatever politicians are saying about them being at peace.

Within a year, the girl lost her friends and school, her home, her father, her sense of security, her happiness. By the time she is asked to “make a wish darling” there is just too much for her to wish for all at once for just one birthday…just one candle…

The sad thing is that this video is so relatable that the comment section is a time capsule. It started with Syria, then the comments from 3 years ago are saying "This is Ukraine", and today people are saying it's Palestine. It's so sad that this is ongoing to the point where in the near future, there will probably be comments where this will be happening in a new country and the cycle will continue :(

What we don't realise is that it is the lives of many many children out there, living a nightmarish life. I hope that it won't be too late for the humanity to realise the same.

Oh wow as a Syrian girl who spent her life in and out of immigration and country I really liked this. Especially at the end I knew what she wished for internally

I just wrote a literature review paper on how war affects youth cognitive development. This was a great concise media reference.

This is exactly what I feel about 🇺🇦 & 🇷🇺 right now. I never experienced war with my age. We, new generation shouldn't think just another war happening between two countries.

We should remember things we heard from the previous generation.

We must recall what we've learned from history.

We need to keep in mind that the war is not for our kind.

Don't let war happen because most of us do not know what war actually is.

lebanon palestine and syria experience this sad truth, as a lebanese, i did see a nearby strike and just after that my village was in rubbles, we had to go through 7 hours of traffic, to get to another city

all because a plane feel in that city
4 people died
492 in total during this day
we are lucky, some people live in abandoned schools
Edit: My city did not contain any sort of weapons, isreal did that for genocide

The war in Syria started when I was 7. I never had the chance to live like a child...

Not only Syria but many other places in this world. Everyday i feel rich to be able to raise my daughter in a safe and organized european country. We are not wealthy by any means but we have a home, all the food we wish and a lot of happy time together. I feel the pain for every parent in this world that can not offer their children basic needs and some of this countries became at war from one day to another so it wasn't even possible to predict the future of this children. We have failed as mankind and no money or tech in this world are more important that giving a confortable and full of love childhood to our kids.

I'm an atheist Iranian Australian. I've travelled to 25 countries and have worked or studied on 4 continents. I have friends of almost all religions and nationalities. People all around the world are lovely. My friends are beautiful. They are Jewish, Hindu, Christian, Muslim, atheist and then more. We love each other and we want to live in peace and safety and secure a great future for our kids. Why is it hard for ordinary people like us to bring to power ordinary people? At what point do we lose control to greed and villainy? How do religious and political figures convince us that people of another colour, race, nationality or religion are our enemies when they clearly are not? They are just humans like us and they want what we want. They want a home, safety, security and prosperity. And the Earth has enough of all of that for all of us many times over. So what goes wrong? Where does it go wrong?

As a teenager I read the story of a man lost in a land. From a distance he saw a wolf running to him. Fear engulfed him. "Or is that a dog?" He thought. No time to hesitate. He picked up a stone and threw it at the creature and hurt its leg badly. The dog limped to him and started licking him. Because the dog too, needed the companionship. He did not know how to control his sorrow and shame for hurting the animal. This is our story. Our fears make others look like monsters so we act like a monster to keep ourself safe. And when we look in the mirror, we see the real monster. The monster was us all along and we were blind to it. Let us all stop doing monstrous stuff and advise those around us. Then watch monstrosities disappear.

Very powerful. I hope that people see this and remember it when they vote. Stop endless and needless wars!

When someone complains about life or how hard it is. When I feel down on myself and think my own life is hard I always come back here to remind myself and others . Life isn’t as bad as you think it is …
